Scientific Proof that Women Put Out for Expensive Things

Well Libs always call us conservatives anti-science, I wonder how they'll react to this?

We manipulated whether an ad promoted an expensive or a cheap product using a sexually charged or a neutral scene. As predicted, women found sexual imagery distasteful when it was used to promote a cheap product, but this reaction to sexual imagery was mitigated if the product promoted was expensive. This pattern was not observed among men. Furthermore, we predicted and found that sexual ads promoting cheap products heightened feelings of being upset and angry among women.

Scientific proof women are gold digging sluts I guess. I think I'll keep using my method of taking each person as unique and different.

Incredible. I mean how have we not seen it? It's been there all along. White people hate Obama. I'm shocked after 5 years, no one has ever thought of this. 

It would be funny if it weren't so tired and simple minded. The insane thing about this idiocy is how racist it comes off towards black people as well.

If you've been listening to President Obama’s speeches with any regularity over the last two years, you'll be familiar with this afternoon’s address at the Center for American Progress on income inequality and economic mobility. As usual, he notes the growing gap between the rich and everyone else, the deep insecurity of the middle-class, and the disappearance of working-class jobs that can provide a decent quality of life. 

There was, however, something different about this speech relative to all his others. Namely, he zeroed in on one of the key problems liberals have always faced in their efforts to expand the social safety net. 

White people. 

Even today, nearly fifty years after the end of legal segregation, racial attitudes are the most reliable way to predict support for certain government programs. On one end is outright opposition: Whites who show high levels of “ethnocentrism,” for instance, are more likely to oppose means-tested welfare—like Temporary Aid for Needy Families (TANF)—even after you adjust for ideology. Likewise, whites who show high levels of “racial resentment”—the belief that blacks and other minorities unfairly benefit at the expense of white Americans—are reliable opponents of government programs for the poor.

Let's skip for a moment that the growing gap between the rich and the poor has continued to happen under his watch. After 5 years, he still has nothing to do with it, as if he's an innocent bystander just ever-so-concerned for what's happening to his fellow man.

First off, why is a social safety net a racial trait? If white people oppose the social safety net, does that mean a black person's natural inclination is to be for it? To make use of it? Are we saying that blacks and other minorities by virtue of having dark skin will naturally be unable to do for themselves and need government assistance? This idea offends me to no end. If whites oppose this, are they racist or do they believe that blacks are NOT inherently inferior and can be just as successful on their own?

This yahoo's entire argument is built on the idea that the two races are indeed different. Therefore different programs are needed for them. In effect, he is very racist against his own people.

Truth is, he simply wants to punish white people for all past crimes. In a country founded on the idea of individual rights, this is disgusting. Few white people today engage in racism. And even fewer are still alive that did the horrible things in the fifties. No white person alive today has ever owned a slave. But we all need to be punished for... wait for it... the color of our skin.

Indeed, there’s some evidence to suggest that the Affordable Care Act’s poor approval with white Americans owes itself—in part—to perceptions that the law primarily benefits blacks, Latinos and other non-whites. 

No evidence is actually given in the article. Just take his word for it. Personally I think it doesn't benefit anyone, color of skin be damned and there is ample evidence to show it.

Oh wait, he did offer some "evidence."

Arguably, one ad in the 2012 election played on this perception, attacking Obamacare as a program that took billions from “you”—illustrated as an older white man—to spend on a new government program for unspecified others. What’s more, there is research to show that one ad—which attacked President Obama for “gutting welfare”—had the effect of priming negative racial attitudes towards African Americans.

That's right, one anti-obamacare ad, which had a white guy in it who didn't like having his tax dollars spent on "unspecified" others. But we can read between the lines, we KNOW what the "others" mean, right?

This is what hacks like this do, lead you on a little breadcrumb trail to come to the obvious conclusion: racism. Everything is racism. It doesn't matter if the ACA is a spectacular failure. It doesn't matter if they spent 290 million on a website that doesn't work. None of that matters because the only reason for opposition of Obama is racism.

Thanks to decades of slanted images of black poverty, the broad image is that the black poor are lazy and unwilling to work, while the white poor deserve a break. Phrases like “welfare queen” and complaints about “handouts” and “Obamaphones,” for example, are heavily racialized and dredge up (or use) images of inner-city blacks.

I remember the Obamaphone lady. I bet you do too:

True enough, the video out there showed a black lady wanting an Obamaphone. It did cement itself into the public consciousness. But you know what? Conservatives didn't just put that out there. They followed up on her. She went and got information and they played Obama's own words to her. They didn't just use her as propaganda, as a prop. They tried to help her. Guess what happened?

That's right, she turned into a racist. Well, it happens. Some blacks just hate their own race. It's the ONLY explanation.

Democrats follow NBC's Idea to Tax by the Mile.

Remember my story on NBC wanting to tax by the mile? No? Looks like the democrats do. 

Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) on Tuesday re-introduced legislation that would require the government to study the most practical ways of taxing drivers based on how far they drive, in order to help fund federal highway programs. 

Blumenauer’s bill, H.R. 3638, would set up a Road Usage Fee Pilot Program, which he said would study mileage-based fee systems. He cast his bill as a long-term solution for funding highway programs, and proposed it along with a shorter-term plan to nearly double the gas tax, from 18.4 cents to 33.4 cents per gallon.

Because every goddamn penny that goes to the government is accounted for and spent wisely. Lazy, lazy, LAZY. Actually going through the budget and finding waste, ending corruption, and being efficient... well that's hard! Let's just take more money and then get to our cocktail parties. We got Sunday morning shows to preen on after all, we can't be bothered with taking proper care of the people's money. Just take more.

Please national media, please put this story front and center. Let's see these guys run on this and Obamacare. Pretty please.

So.  Not only is using the government website the equivalent of spending the night with a syphilitic crack whore.  It's spending the night with a syphilitic crack whore who is under no legal obligation to inform you that she just tested positive for HIV.

Orrin Hatch has blasted the IRS part of the system as a “fraudster’s dream come true.”  The plan is to pay the credits and then verify the information later, a necessity because of the failure to develop the online systems for ObamaCare on time, and that means the IRS and HHS will spend lots of time trying to catch up to the checks. Hatch also argues that the nature of the law itself lends itself to fraud: 

Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), the top Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, described the subsidies as a “fraudsters dream come true.” 

“The very nature of these credits — pay first, verify a person’s income later — will lead to potentially hundreds of billions of dollars of improper payments and could put millions of American’s personal information at risk,” Hatch said in a statement. 

Hatch also suggested the IRS cannot fully address the vulnerabilities of the refund system because the problems are “deeply rooted in the law itself, referring to the health legislation. ”I fear the IRS will never be fully capable of ensuring that these refundable tax credits got to those who are truly eligible,” he said.

GOP chair actually fights with a Democrat instead of a Tea Party member.

Well it's a start. Perhaps the jelly spines of the GOP can't be called full-fledged "backbones" yet but at least "back cartilage." Still making Debbie Wasserman Schultz look stupid is like shooting fish in a barrel. I guess take your wins where you can.

Cuban Life Under Communism. A Must Read.

I'm looking at you Michael Moore. 

Seriously, those who love communism, who think the government should do for you what you cannot do for yourself, here's the result.

The first one I saw featured a hangman’s noose and said “BLOQUEO -- El genocidio mas largo de la historia.” BLOCKADE – The longest genocide in history.

The government is referring to the embargo, or sanctions, put in place against Cuba in 1962 after Castro nationalized US property. But the sanctions are not a blockade—which is an act of war—and they certainly don’t constitute genocide.

Another billboard showed the logo of the UJC, the Union of Communist Youth, which is composed of the faces of three communist leaders—Che Guevara, Camilo Cienfuegos, and Julio Antonio Mella—men who are dubbed “The protagonists of our time.” The UJC’s motto is “study, work, rifle.”

I groaned to myself at these absurd slogans and images, but was delighted when I later heard Cubans dismiss it all as “state propaganda.”

Aside from the billboards on the way in, Havana doesn't look like a communist city. It has not been transformed into a sullen drabscape of gray concrete towers like so many capitals in the former Soviet bloc. Small one-story homes in a state of mild disrepair appeared through jungle-like foliage. Hundreds of people stood on the side of the road waiting for busses or to be picked up by one of the cars that passed periodically. Once I reached the city proper, all I saw, aside from a few faded high-rises, was European architecture in every direction. Most of Havana was built before the communist era when Cuba was still a rich country.

Yeah, nothing new happens in a communist regime. Watch the movie "Brazil" to see an admittedly exaggerated comment on that.

It’s not a bad hotel. It’s certainly better than the ghastly Soviet tower I stayed at in Borjomi, Georgia, during the Russian invasion in 2008. The Habana Libre, like the classic cars out on the streets, just hasn’t been updated since the 50s. It’s a modern-day throwback to the era of Mad Men. 

The lights work, the air conditioning didn't crap out, and the hot water heater never ran cold, but I woke every morning in pain. The mattress, like the rest of the furniture, also dated back to the 1950s and was at least half as firm as the floor. 

And I felt like I was being spied on the minute I stepped into my room. 

I knew I wouldn’t find any surveillance equipment, but I couldn’t help looking. I didn’t look hard, though. I didn’t want anyone to see me looking for bugs, wires, or cameras if they were watching. A colleague told me they place cameras as well as microphones in the rooms, and that the cameras point at the bed. I don’t know how he’d know that bit about cameras or if it’s even true. Perhaps it’s just a paranoid rumor. Maybe the regime started the rumor itself to make people paranoid. Who knows? 

At the end of the day it doesn’t matter if it’s true because I had little choice but to behave as though it is true. And it affected my job. Not only did I have to leave my laptop at home, I couldn’t sit on the bed and take notes with pen and paper. I had to look and behave exactly like a tourist even in the “privacy” of my hotel room, and tourists don’t generally sit down and write for long stretches.

It's goes on like this. Typically the journalist makes a lot of it about how it affects him and how difficult it is for him to be a journalist. But still eye opening, even for those of us who already understand the dangers of too much government and how bad communism is. What is striking to me is that the people know what's what. They don't believe the propaganda, they know who the bad guys are but they are just too scared to revolt. And that kind of fear is created through god knows how much spilt blood. No one should have to live like this, not one man, woman, or child on this planet. Yes Liberals, no matter what color they happen to be.

At some point, I think people are realizing that climate-change yahoos are really religious zealots. With all the critical thinking that comes with that sort of mindset.
